Let’s Sip: Tea Time on a Monday Night? A Review of White Claw Iced Teas.

Sometimes you see something that blows your mind but ends up being either overrated or just not good enough. This has been the issue with the new fad of hard seltzers, especially from the brands White Claw and Truly. Join me as I search far and wide for a hard seltzer that doesn’t make me regret buying it.

In todays Issue I try the Iced Tea Flavor pack from White Claw to see if it gets all of my 5 cans or if it gets crushed and thrown out.

The first flavors we have are the White Claw Iced Teas. There are 4 of them in the variety pack and the flavors include; Lemon, Mango, Raspberry, and Peach. All of the flavors are gluten free and only have 100 calories, being 5% alc/vol. Below are my rankings.

  1. Raspberry Iced Tea. The first taste tastes pretty good considering it is a mimic of a tea. You can definitely taste a subtle raspberry flavor. During the after taste, the raspberry flavor shines on the after taste as it is more prominent. This flavor gets 4.5 out of 5 cans from me as there could me more flavor while drinking.

  2. Peach Iced Tea. The first taste has as a strong peach smell and the taste while sipping is very pleasant. The after taste is not as good because the flavor gets lost after going down and leaves an unpleasant taste for a couple of seconds. I give this flavor 4 out of 5 cans because it had a good taste but it also reminded me of a Snapple Peach Iced Tea.

  3. Lemon Iced Tea. The first taste does not have much of a taste when it comes to lemon but you can taste that something is going on. The after taste surprisingly gave a salmon like taste when going down, making it hard to finish the can. Because of this, I give this flavor 1.5 out of 5 cans. There is little to imagine when the lemon flavor gets lost in translation.

  4. Mango Iced Tea. The first taste has a good taste and has that mango flavor that packs a punch. However on the after taste, just like the lemon, this flavor has a very strong fish taste. Simply because there was not a lot of mango flavor in combination of a fishy taste, this flavor gets a half a can, making it the worst ranked flavor. This was very disappointing making me leave the can full instead of empty.

Overall, this flavor pack had a lot of potential but in the end, 2 out of the 4 flavors won me over. If you can find the individual flavors, be sure to try them first before trying to get the variety pack. Finding this pack was a struggle as many of the local grocery stores and delis did not carry them. I found them at my local Target so be sure to check the app before heading out.
